INTENT

Students are to learn more about the media pipeline and skill sets required to complete a media project in this course.  Students will collaborate with one other student to investigate the role needed in the pipeline and map them out.

CRITERIA

  • Research the required skill sets needed in a media pipeline
  • Summarize the roles and identify the important of the position (time wise) using a scale our of 5
  • Provide examples of the roles from cited media examples
  • Set up your Behance Project with your partner
  • Generate a list of already acquired essentials competencies and needed competencies
  • Post all your Pipeline research to Behance Portfolio 
  • Present a 5 minute maximum presentation on your chosen pipeline to the class

Task:

Part 1 – Student Group Behance Portfolio:

Cover: Reflect theme of Course.  Art Cover must be a screenshot from your project.

Content: Embed all Activities components.  Title each activity using Heading style 1.  Embed images and animations. All text content (not titles) should use Paragraph style.  All components of the activity must be posted here.

Part 2 – Research and create an online presentation using Adobe Spark Page

  • Research the required skill sets needed in a media pipeline.  Save as many images related to your pipeline.  Cite all your sources.  Investigate production companies which use the pipeline.
  • Define and summarize all roles in the pipeline.  Please identify the importance of the position (time wise) using a scale out of 5.  
  • Find supporting videos
  • Provide examples of the roles from cited media examples
  • Create a 5 minute presentation using Adobe Spark Page to present in class
  • Set up your Behance Project with your partner and create a link to your spark page (this may be posted to your WordPress page in the next unit).
  • Generate a list of already acquired essentials competencies and needed competencies
  • Create an adapted pipeline in class (12-16 positions) on a dry erase board using sticky notes.  This pipeline should be adapted to this classroom.  Add this adapted pipeline to your presentation to the class.
  • Post all your Pipeline research to Behance Portfolio 
  • Present a 5 minute maximum presentation on your chosen pipeline to the class 

 Part 3 – Improving Human Resources

Groups for final projects will be assigned in class.  Group/Students….

  • are to meet in their office area of the classroom,
  • create a new list of pipeline competences to complete your type of project.
  • highlight the major roles/competences of concern,
  • divide the group into specialized skill development groups (2-3 students per group).
  • will spend 2 full classes upgrading your skills to meet the needs of your pipeline (i.e., animation group will assign 2 people to learn rigging using Harmony, etc),
  • each sub-group will create a quick 2-3 minute training video on what they learned,
  • groups will present to class and teacher in dailies format on Wednesday, Feb 28 (5 minute maximum):
    • their production team, highlighting student roles (even distributed throughout all production phases)
    • highlight areas of training (compilation of training videos)
  • post all your Pipeline training and daily to Behance Portfolio
